P4/5 Reaching for the Stars (and the Marshmallows!)
Our P4/5 class has been reaching for the stars as part of our exciting Space topic! ?
The children have been exploring star constellations, learning how patterns in the night sky have been observed and named for thousands of years. To bring this learning to life, they created their own constellations using dried spaghetti and mini marshmallows, carefully joining the “stars” to form recognisable shapes.
The activity sparked brilliant discussion, creativity and plenty of teamwork—and, unsurprisingly, a lot of laughter too! By the end of the session, the constellations were complete… although the marshmallows had mysteriously disappeared! ??
A fun, hands-on lesson that helped the children deepen their understanding of constellations while thoroughly enjoying their learning.
