Covid 19 Virus Update

12th Mar 2020

Dear Parents,

I appreciate that there is a lot of uncertainty and unease around the spread of Covid 19 virus. As a school community, we have put  infection controls in place to manage the situation in school as best we can , subject to supplies being available when requested. The Education Authority have special arrangements in place for the supply of specialist cleaning materials ,sanitisers and soap.

We are following the guidance provided by the Public Health Agency and any information received from the Dept.of Education.

It is vital that as a school community we remain vigilant and act appropriately in order to minimise the risk of infection. You should inform the school office immediately, if you suspect that your family have been exposed to COVID 19 and are displaying the symptons of COVID 19. You should follow the advice on the Public Health Agency website.

This so important as their are some families, older relatives and staff members, who have family members with underlying health issues that would leave them susceptible to this virus.

In the event of a school closure ( as advised by DENI)

You will receive a text message via the Teacher2parent system , informing of the decision to close.

Home learning: Purple Mash will be used to develop aspects of learning as planned  by the teaching staff. Purple Mash are working with our school in preparation for this outcome. P6 pupils will receive additional work.

Re-opening of school :

There will be a deep clean of the school during the closure period, to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.

You will receive a text message to inform you when the school will re open.

Information will also be updated ion the school website.

In the mean time, stay safe and look after those who may be vulnerable.
