Celebrating World Book Day with Chloe and Elsie from Sullivan Upper
We had an extra special World Book Day treat last Friday when two wonderful students from Sullivan Upper, Chloe and Elsie, came to our class to read to us. And what a book they chose — the funny and much-loved The Day the Crayons Quit!
From the moment they opened the book, the whole class was completely captivated. The children listened with great intent as the crayons complained about their jobs, and there were plenty of giggles and enthusiastic guesses about which crayon would “quit” next.
Chloe and Elsie were fantastic guest readers, bringing the characters to life and keeping everyone glued to the story. P2/3 loved having “the big kids” visit, and many left the room still chatting about their favourite crayon.
A huge thank you to Chloe and Elsie for making our World Book Day celebrations even brighter. We hope they’ll come back again soon — our crayons haven’t stopped talking about it!
